It's time to create your business branded moodboard, and begin to bring your brand identity to life.
Before you jump right into this next part of the programme, and get to work on creating a branded company mood board. We just want to share why this part of the process is so important, and how we can use a mood board to effectively communicate our brand with others, including investors.
So, we're about to start to work on your business branded mood board.
Before we do, I just want to take a moment and explain why this is so important.
A mood board is such a simple, easy way to communicate what your brand is about, and how it looks and how it feels. A mood board acts in a way that if you were to go like this to somebody. BOOM. "This is it, this is my look." They'd instantly get it, just like that.
It's also a way for us as business owners, particularly when we're working with interiors that we can reference back to and just check in with ourselves and say, “Ah, need to go back to that, just to remind myself what am I about?”. And don't worry, I do this all of the time.
Don't forget this design process that I'm sharing with you, is my step-by-step process that I've tweaked and refined over the years. And I follow this process for literally everything. I've even done it for designing garden sheds. It works. We must always go back to the main part of the design, which is always that mood board, the business mood board.
So, Pinterest at the ready. We're going to go back on there now, and I'm going to talk you through how to do that in step-by-steps. So we create the beginning stages of this incredible cohesive look. Once we've created that, we're going to then develop out into the interiors.

It's time to get on Pinterest, and start creating your very own business branded mood board! To help you on your way, we're sharing our very own BEESPACE branded mood board, to give you a really clear example of what we would like you to create. You'll be able to see where our inspiration comes from, and how our interiors begin to take form.
So everyone, it's now time to really start to think about making your main company creative mood board.
Now, this is such an important thing. What we're about to do, essentially, what we're trying to do is create a mood board on Pinterest - so that it's really easy to navigate and create. That when we show our mood board, we really get a very clear sense of direction and theme across the images that we select. So I've set this one up. So this is for Beespace. We've actually called it the hive, we're calling everything The Hive that we're going to go through. So here you can see a selection of 14 images, and a mood board doesn't need to be any more than that.
If you don't want it to be that's more than enough, you could have six images. It's whatever you feel represents your brand and your business well. So on this mood board, the things that we need to include are images, creative snapshots, that really represent the essence of what we want our brand to be like and feel like.
So it doesn't have to be just all interiors because we're property developers. It can be inspirational lifestyle images, like this gorgeous lady here in New York walking around, or it can be more of a interiors based image. For me, because I'm a commercial designer,
that's where I draw a lot of my own personal inspiration from. I've actually sourced my images from commercial spaces, like cafes and bars, because I find that really inspiring. So we all have different places that we go to for visuals and we think, yeah this is a great representation of my brand, and this is what I'm about.
So this is what I want you guys to do. I want you to create your own board and think about the things that you're really drawn to because of the brands that you've already worked on, your personal brands, and start to build your board out. Now Pinterest is really smart and savvy. When you start to get some images together, there's a feature here which can give you more ideas.
So more ideas are going to connect to similar images of what you've already pinned. If you're struggling to find, say, for example, if you're struggling to find images that you think, you're missing something on your board that you really want to represent. Pinterest has the ability to be able to find those images for you. So you can find more images there or if you click on an image and you scroll down, let's scroll down on her let's say I wanted more images of sort of hipsters doing their thing that represented my brand. Well, if you go down, the algorithm has an amazing way of showing you similar images.
So let's pop her in there
So there are the two images which you can see really fit inside everything else. That's a really great feature to help you find images that really connect with you and really represent the look and feel that you're about. This organise button is fantastic because you can move your images around.
So say for example, on this image, it's super visual. I probably want this to feel bigger so we can drop that over here.
Over here. We might want to separate the two ladies out, so we put one over here. So on and so forth, and also it gives you the ability to get an image and move it, create a different section or delete. This is a really nice simple tool, to be able to create a mood board.
I think a lot of people are put off by doing the mood board because they think that there needs to be really switched on on software like InDesign, but honestly don't, if you can pin on Pinterest, which most of us, or hopefully all of us doing this course can then you're able to create your company mood board.
So remember to summarize, we're looking to create a series of images that really inspire us, that really connect into what we would like our brand to look and feel like. That really represent how we want to be seen. And we want to group those together to create a strong, cohesive look. That is what we're really, really trying to get to.
Now on the next video, I'm going to show you how we take all of this and we turn it into materials for our projects.
